Romans 8 Vol 2
Chapter 1
In verse 5, Paul continues his discussion on the flesh and the spirit. He mentions the topic in verse 3-4. He now begins an in-depth discussion of Spirit and flesh. Depending on your church background, being in the flesh is a big deal. Paul speaks to this subject in some detail. We can form a conclusion about what the believer’s relationship is to both Spirit and flesh. Should this problem concern the church? Here is verses 3 and 4.
“3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:3-4).
